These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Nathan Bekele (“Milo,” “we,” “us”) governing your use of the Milo app. Please read them. By using Milo, you agree to them.
Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using Milo, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
What Milo is
Milo is a natural-language health journal. You write about what you ate, how you moved, and how you felt, and Milo uses AI to produce structured estimates — calories, macros, and patterns — and to surface insights over time. Milo is a wellness and self-tracking tool, not a medical device.
Not medical advice
Subscriptions, free trial & billing
Milo is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, with a free trial:
- Plans: Weekly at $3.99/week and Yearly at $39.99/year (prices may vary by region and are shown in the app before you purchase).
- Free trial: the Yearly plan includes a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid yearly subscription and you’ll be charged. The Weekly plan has no trial.
- Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Managing & cancelling: purchases are processed by Apple and billed to your Apple ID. Manage or cancel anytime in your device Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds: handled by Apple under the App Store’s terms; we don’t process payments or refunds directly.
Your use of subscriptions is also governed by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).
Your account
You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account. Let us know promptly of any unauthorized use. You can delete your account anytime in Settings → Account.
Your content
Your journal entries are yours. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the service — to store your entries, send them to our AI providers to generate estimates, and display them back to you. We don’t claim ownership of your content and we don’t sell it. See the Privacy Policy for how it’s handled.
Acceptable use
Please don’t misuse Milo. In particular, don’t: break the law; attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service; abuse the AI features (for example, automated or excessive requests); or use Milo to harm others. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Our intellectual property
Milo, including its software, design, mascot, and brand, is owned by us and protected by law. These Terms don’t grant you any rights to our trademarks or to copy or redistribute the app.
Disclaimers
Milo is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. We don’t warrant that estimates will be correct or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Milo and Nathan Bekele will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the app’s estimates. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Milo after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
